We love our Local Artist Trunk Shows because we get to bring people and our wonderful Peninsula artists together to talk and share an appreciation for fine art. Everyone works hard to bring you a good show. Sandra Lill and Debra Tolva are making holiday jewelry, Renee Newstrum is sewing faster than Cinderella’s mice before the ball, and Karen Brownlee is throwing so many clay pieces she could strike out the World Series. Ideas are also brewing for Don Nisbett, and we are proud to announce an all-new line to be introduced at this weekend’s trunk show and exclusive to Long Beach Coffee Roasters!

The inspiration came one day when I was sitting at my computer having a sour day. A friend came into the shop and as he filled his cup with coffee, I made a comment, the specifics of which escapes me now, but it was in reference to a favorite viral video. He had no idea what I was talking about.

“You haven’t seen [it]!” I exclaimed, flabbergasted.

“No…” he replied thinking me slightly crazy.

“Come back into the office and watch. Right now.” And he did. And there were tears of laughter. I thought to myself, “I can bring laughter to so many people by sharing this experience with those who have yet to see it.” Then it hit me: Don Nisbett can help!

I posted a link to the YouTube video on Don’s Facebook page and challenged him to create a piece of art based on what he saw. He took up the challenge as only Don can and the result was, in a word, A-W-E-S-O-M-E. And being the marketing genius that I am, I claimed it in the name of our Trunk Show and LBCR!

And he’s coming to Long Beach Coffee Roasters. There will be shirts, mugs, prints, and magnets and they will only be sold through the shop, so stop in, chat us up, and take home your own piece of the fiercest creature alive. He may not care, but we do!

P.S. The last thing we want to do is offend anyone. We find this crazy guy hilarious. Some may not. For those people, we are keeping the merchandise as PC as possible. In other words, we won't say shit.
